Two Improved Approaches to Fault Detection with Unknown Inputs

چکیده
This paper addresses the fault detection problem based on H∞ performance and L2-gain performance. Two improved approaches compared with the recent results (Wang et al., 2005, Ding et al., 2000) are presented. One uses the inverse transfer function and state space representation to consider the H∞ performance. The other uses dilated matrix formulation to handle different Lyapunov matrices based on L2-gain performance. All these conditions can be efficiently solved by LMI techniques.

Fault Detection Observers for Systems with Unknown Inputs
Many approaches for the design of unknown input observers were developed to estimate the state of a linear time-invariant dynamical system driven by both known and unknown inputs. These observers are often used for component failure detection, for instrument fault detection in systems subject to plant parameter variations or uncertainties and for fault detection and isolation for systems subjec...
متن کاملAn Unknown Input Observer for Fault Detection Based on Sliding Mode Observer in Electrical Steering Assist Systems
Steering assist system controls the force transfer behavior of the steering system and improves the steering probability of the vehicle. Moreover, it is an interface between the diver and vehicle. Fault detection in electrical assisted steering systems is a challenging problem due to frequently use of these systems. This paper addresses the fault detection and reconstruction in automotive elect...
متن کاملDetection of Single and Dual Incipient Process Faults Using an Improved Artificial Neural Network
Changes in the physicochemical conditions of process unit, even under control, may lead to what are generically referred to as faults. The cognition of causes is very important, because the system can be diagnosed and fault tolerated. In this article, we discuss and propose an artificial neural network that can detect the incipient and gradual faults either individually or mutually. The mai...
متن کاملDesign of nonlinear parity approach to fault detection and identification based on Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy model and unknown input observer in nonlinear systems
In this study, a novel fault detection scheme is developed for a class of nonlinear system in the presence of sensor noise. A nonlinear Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy model is implemented to create multiple models. While the T-S fuzzy model is used for only the nonlinear distribution matrix of the fault and measurement signals, a larger category of nonlinear systems is considered. Next, a mapping to decou...
متن کاملApplication of Augmented Observer for Fault Diagnosis in Rotor Systems
Observers are widely used to generate residuals for fault diagnosis processes. However the generated residuals are not only influenced by faults but also by disturbances and model uncertainties. In order to avoid false alarm and achieve a high fault detection rate disturbances and model uncertainties have to be considered in the fault detection and isolation (FDI) processes. In rotor systems th...
